Parsley Carum petroselinum. Parsley is associated with Festivity and Celebrations. Only sow Parsley on Good Friday, otherwise it is unlucky (the Angel of Death may enter your Home.) It is also bad Luck to transplant, to give away or to be given Parsley. Parsley grown too close to the House will cause a Death in the Family. Parsley grows best when planted by a Woman; if a Man plants it, he must be either virtuously honest, or thoroughly wicked. Where Parsley grows in the Garden, the Woman rules the House. If a Girl has a compulsion to plant Parsley, she is going to have a Baby soon. Peony Genus Paeonia. Carry Peony Root for good Luck. Peony is useful for treating Epilepsy. It has a long-standing Reputation for its Health-giving Qualities. Periwinkle/Sorcererís Violet Vinca major. Powder Periwinkle with Earthworm and serve it with Meat wrapped in a House Leek to ignite Passion. It cures Cramps. The Periwinkle is used to cure Devil Sickness and Demonic Possession. It is also used in Love Spells, Money Spells, Philtres, and Charms to obtain Grace or to protect against bad Spirits, wild Beasts, Serpents, and Poison. Saffron Crocus sativus. The Saffron Plant is an Herb of Love Enchantment, Healing, Weather working (for raising the Wind), and Spells and Rituals to strengthen the Psychic Abilities. It is sacred to the Phoenician Goddess Ashtoreth. Drinking a Potion made from Saffron is said to give a Woman or Man the Gift of Second Sight.

Sage/Sawge Salvia officinalis. Sage assures Longevity and good Health. It cures the Ague. As Sage flourishes or dies, so will the Fortunes of its Owner. Sage only prospers in those Houses where the Woman rules the House. An Infusion of Sage is useful in treating Colds and Sore Throats. Sage Tea is a Nerve and Blood Tonic and a Digestive, but it should not be used by Ulcer Sufferers. A young Maiden will see her future Marriage Mate if she picks twelve Sage Leaves on St. Markís Day as the Clock strikes the Midday Hour.

Sampson Snake Root Carry Sampson Snake Root as a Charm to increase Virility. Chew it to soften the Hearts of Others.

Sandalwood Santalum album. Often burned as a Magickal Incense, Sandalwood exorcises Demons and Evil Ghosts, conjures Beneficial Spirits (especially those which aid in Spellcraft), promotes Spiritual Awareness, and is said to make Wishes come true. It is potent in all Forms of Healing Magick.

Satavar Asparagus racemosus. Satavar corrects Genital Disorders.

Satyrion Root Orchis maculata. The Root of the Spotted Orchid. Ground to Powder and mixed with Musk Oil, Satyrion Root makes a powerful Love Potion.

Sea Spirit Plant Place a small amount of Sea Spirit in a little Bottle which is filled with Whiskey, then seal the Bottle. Keep a Bottle in each Room of the Home as a lucky Charm.

Seaweed/Ladyís Trees Pieces of dried Seaweed are kept in the House, especially on the Mantel above the Fireplace, in order to keep the House safe from Fire.

Skunk Cabbage/Dracontium/Meadow Cabbage/Skunkweed/Suntull Symplocarpus foetidus. Take the Skunk Cabbage, gathered in August, on a Sunday. Wrap a little of the Plant in a Bay Leaf, and add a Dandelion to it. Carry the Talisman on your Person as a Spell to obtain Justice in Court.

Slippery Elm/Indian Elm/Moose Elm/Red Elm Ulmus fulva. Slippery Elm Bark heals Ulcers or internal Wounds.

Smallage/Wild Celery Apium graveolens. Smallage prevents Muscle Cramps. A Tisane of Smallage has a Sedative Effect, and a Tea made of dried Seeds is a Treatment for Rheumatism, Arthritis, and Gout.

Solomonís Seal/Ladyís Seals/St. Maryís Seal Polygonatum multiflorum. Place the Herb in a Container and burn it before starting a Ritual; this invokes the aid of the Spirits in making a Success of the following Ritual. Solomonís Seal is used as an Herb of Protection and Exorcism. Its Root is used to make Potions which drive out all Demons, Negativity, and Evil Forces when sprinkled.

Speedwell Genus Veronica. Picking blue Speedwell Flowers will cause angry Birds to peck out your Eyes. A Child who gathers Speedwell will cause his or her Mother to die before the Year is gone.

Sphagnum Moss/Bog Moss Sphagnum cymbifolium. Sphagnum Moss heals Wounds. It is useful when bound over a Wound, to prevent Infection and keep the Wound healthy.

Summer Savoury Satureja hortensis. Summer Savoury is associated with Satyrs. It is an essential Ingredient in Love Potions and Aphrodisiacs. When worn or carried, it is said to strengthen the Powers of the Mind. Summer Savoury increases the Sexual Desires; however, Winter Savoury does just the Opposite.

Tansy Tanacetum vulgare. Tansy deters Insects. It is recommended for bathing Bruises. It is used in Spells for Invisibility and Immortality and to keep Evil Ghosts from entering a House. Tansy Leaves are worn in the Shoe as a Charm against Fever. It is also worn by Women to aid Conception and to prevent Miscarriage.

Tarragon Artemisia dracunculus. A Tisane of Tarragon is recommended both as a Digestive and a Tonic. This Herb has long been associated with Dragons and Serpent Goddesses. It is believed that Tarragon can cure the Bites of Snakes when it is eaten or rubbed on the Wound.

Tea A Tea is an Infusion of any dried Leaves used medicinally or as a Beverage.

Thorn Apple/Jimson Weed/Stramonium Datura stramonium. A few drops of Thorn Apple Berry Juice mixed into a Potion, can cause Visions.

Thyme Thymus vulgaris. Thyme is good for Flatulence. It induces Perspiration. An Infusion of Thyme is useful in treating Colds and Sore Throats, and for stimulating the Circulation and speeding Recovery from Hangover. Thyme also aids the Digestion. The Thyme is used in Love Spells and Divinations, Dream Magick, Spells to increase Strength and Courage, and Charms against Nightmares. It is also used in Healing Spells, Purifications, and Rituals to develop Extra-Sensory Perception. A Branch of wild Thyme carried into the House of an old or ailing Man will surely cause him to die. If a young Maiden wears a Sprig of Thyme in her Hair, she will become irresistible to the opposite Sex. Carrying Thyme enables one to see the Fairy World.

Tisane A Tisane is an Infusion of dried Herbs, used as a Beverage or for Medicinal Purposes.

Tonka Bean Dipteryx odorata. The Tonka Bean is the Coumarin-containing Seed of a tropical Tree. Tonka Beans are a powerful protective Charm.

Tormentilla Root/Septfoil/Tormentil Potentilla tormentilla. Brew a Drink of Tormentilla Root to stop Fever. Also drink it to keep Witchcraft away.
